Kickass brunch at Glasserie | New York

glasserie_5Brunch is a must do in New York, and I would be lying to you if I tell you that I do not love it. (Perhaps because, to me, having brunch means eating a lot of great stuff, then spend the rest of the day chilling somewhere in New York and just do nothing. In addition, you do not eat lunch and usually the dinner is light, so no culpability. What else?)

I was looking for something completely different when I discovered Glasserie, a nice Brooklyn based restaurant with a Mediterranean cuisine. The neighbourhood (Greenpoint) is growing and growing but it’s not that easy to go there with the subway. So we chose to take the East River Ferry to Long Island City and cross the Pulaski Bridge. By clear weather, the view is amazing!

As for the food, we tried the formula mezze (10 small plates and some flat bread, all you can eat) + an entrée. The Cher-et-Tendre had a lamb kebab and I tried a delicious vegetables pie with a sunny side egg in the best puff pastry I had in years! The quality of the food was great and the plates were so huge I could not eat everything. The prices are low and the service is great. I fell in love with the place (and the food!!), so if you have the opportunity, do not hesitate for one second and go!glasserieglasserie_15glasserie_17 glasserie_18Glasserie
